About Me

The path from non-IT work to systems administration

Background

My path into IT wasn't a straight line out of school — I moved into the field from non-technical work and built my way up through help desk, desktop support, provisioning, and MSP field engineering over the past five years. Each step added a new layer: troubleshooting end-user issues, managing accounts and access in Active Directory and Entra, keeping networks running, and supporting small business clients directly in the field.

What I Bring

Hands-on experience across the full stack of day-to-day IT operations — from hardware diagnostics and repair to Windows Server administration, network troubleshooting, and basic scripting for automation and provisioning. Time spent supporting small business clients through an MSP means I'm comfortable working independently, communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and adapting to whatever environment I walk into.

What's Next

I'm currently focused on landing a junior systems administrator or systems administrator role where I can build on that foundation — going deeper into infrastructure management, automation, and the systems that keep a business running behind the scenes.
